About Us

Great things often start from small beginnings. Prestige Care and Prestige Senior Living are no exception. Founded in 1985, our origins begin with the legacy of Sarah Delamarter, a pioneer in Oregon's long-term care industry.

Sarah first began using her nursing skills to care for seniors in her home back in 1946 as a means to support her family. As Sarah’s reputation spread for her compassion and care, the demands for her services grew very quickly. Soon she was able to purchase a large house in Wood Village, Oregon and converted it into her first senior care community.

Prestige grew quickly in those early years and began seeking out ways to improve care, setting the stage for innovation. More important though, Prestige began to develop a core value system of respect, integrity, commitment and trust that serves as the bedrock of every Prestige Care and Prestige Senior Living community.

Sarah’s legacy lives on through Prestige Care and Prestige Senior Living. By bringing family home together and purchasing additional homes, her grandsons, Harold and Dr. Rick Delamarter along with their partner Greg Vislocky, now own Prestige.

If you want to maintain an independent lifestyle, but enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a senior community, this is the place for you. Our communities are about choices and convenience. We design all of our Senior Living communities with spacious and well-appointed living areas so that our residents can live how they want to live.

To encourage an environment of fun, our lifetime enrichment director is available to facilitate a variety of regularly scheduled activities and special planned events to encourage a sense of camaraderie within our Senior Living communities. At Prestige, it is our goal to combine the comforts of home with the promise of choice, convenience and security.

Our base rental program includes basic utilities, property taxes, maintenance and access to all amenities and recreation programs.

Assisted Living

Not long ago, seniors who needed help with something as simple as dressing, bathing or taking medication had to choose between a nursing home and costly in-home nursing care. Today, Prestige Senior Living offers a better way to care for people who need some assistance now and then, but not the extensive care provided by a nursing home.

Prestige Senior Living offers comfortable assisted living communities where seniors live in private apartments furnished with personal belongings and treasures enabling residents to enjoy all the comforts of home without the work of daily upkeep.

Prestige Senior Living prides itself in the ability to meet each individual's scheduled and unscheduled needs 24 hours a day in a way that promotes choice, convenience and independence for each resident. Our dedicated staff takes the time to know each resident as an individual and works together with families, neighbors and friends to ensure all our residents receive the best care.

Alzheimer's & Dementia Care

Dementia redefines relationships and places a great deal of stress on families. At Prestige Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care, we recognize that caring for someone with dementia can be physically overwhelming and emotionally traumatic. We are here to help.

Prestige has the experience and resources necessary to provide compassionate care to individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other causes of dementia. We understand the challenges and offer appropriate assistance and relief.

Our approach is simple. Our Expression Memory Care program is all about people. We understand that our residents need a special kind of care when an illness or disability brings about memory loss. For that reason, our programs focus on personal attention and normal activities of daily living.

We build friendships based on trust, respect, empathy, support and humor, which are the building blocks of a caring relationship. If an approach does not work, our staff is effective and flexible enough to alter the program to each resident’s strengths and abilities.

Our program is based on the “Best Friends” care model developed by noted experts David Troxel and Virginia Bell.

Nursing & Rehabilitation

At Prestige Care, we recognize that sometimes the transition from hospital to home is not easy. That’s why we strive every day to provide consistent quality care and the best rehabilitative services in all our centers.

We offer a wide variety of services for seniors. Our programs range from short-term, transitional care to bridge the gap between hospital and home to long-term placement for those unable to manage in a more independent environment. Rehabilitative care and other therapy treatments are available for residents recovering from hip, knee or cardiac surgeries, as well as strokes, wound care, or other injuries and illnesses following a hospitalization under Medicare.

We believe that all our residents should enjoy an active and productive life and our innovative Optimal Recovery program does just that. The program’s goal is to help our residents regain a full range of functional abilities while preventing complications.

Our experienced staff works hard seven days a week to help individuals transition from the hospital to home. All programs at Prestige utilize a comprehensive assessment process and interdisciplinary approach to help residents achieve the highest practicable level of independence and enjoy the best quality of life.

Our nursing and rehabilitation centers are licensed by each state and certified to participate in federal Medicaid and Medicare programs and several managed care health plans.
