Surgery Center
Our Operating Suite
Our ambulatory surgery center grew out of our desire to manage every aspect of our patients’ care. It was important to us to be able to personally select our nurses, doctors, technicians and support staff. We wanted to make sure that at every point of contact our patients felt safe and secure, knowing they were in competent and loving hands.
Our concept of outpatient surgery is to create a warm and loving environment and to eliminate the fear of eye surgery. Surgery is a short painless procedure under local anesthesia. Our professional staff is made up of board certified eye surgeons, a board certified anesthesiologist, registered nurses and certified surgical technicians who genuinely care about you, our patient.
Crystalens
Crystalens Intraocular Lens (IOL) Technology
The Crystalens represents a revolutionary breakthrough in intraocular lens (IOL) technology. It has been rated as the #1 Presbyopia Correcting IOL in the US.
With this new lens, patients can recover youthful vision – a full range of vision without glasses following surgery. Unlike any other lens currently available, the Crystalens Accommodating IOL is designed to allow patients to see objects that are close up, at a distance, and all ranges in between.
In the past, patients have had to choose their visual goal prior to surgery. The most commonly used implants today provide distance vision, with patients routinely using reading glasses to see up close. Another option is monovision, where one eye is focused for distance and the other eye for up close. This provides functional vision at most distances, but at the expense of depth perception. This is certainly not what we would describe as youthful vision.
