Biography
Rita Slatus, owner and executive director of Buckingham South, is a licensed healthcare administrator and has been involved with senior healthcare since she was 16 years of age! Rita has worked in long term healthcare in a variety of positions, including nursing, dietary, social services and administration.
Over ten years ago, after having delivered a lecture on "quality healthcare for seniors," Rita received a petition in the mail from a group of physicians together with some prominent city leaders requesting that she bring this kind of "quality care" to Savannah, Georgia. Their dream came true when Buckingham South opened its doors in April of 1999!
