The Veranda Memory Care at Woodland Place provides an appropriate homelike environment for our dementia residents to maximize their level of functioning while preserving choice, dignity, and independence.
We support our families by encouraging their visits and interaction and participation in programs. Our ”Caring Family Team” is made up of our residents, their famiiles, and the Woodland Place Associates.
Our daily flexible program emphasizes successful resident involvement based on past interests, previous work or household tasks, and self care. It also includes a variety of recreational, social, spiritual, and cultural programs and events.
We specially designed our community with seniors in mind—spacious and light, yet warm and friendly. There’s a nature lover’s patio nestled under the trees for sitting and listening to the birds, feeling the sun on your face or just taking a walk after breakfast.
Our community boasts three large solariums, one on each of the upper floors. We designed each solarium to accommodate the interests and lifestyles of the residents. You’ll find the library and computer center on the second floor. There are cozy nooks for reading and tables for cards and games. Residents have access to a computer center complete with Internet access. Classes are available for those residents who want to learn to use the computer.
Once busy hands will stay that way in the Woodland Place Arts and Crafts Room. Our residents will continue to enjoy needlework, painting, quilting, woodworking, gardening, cooking and much, much more while sharing a cup of coffee with friends.
