About Us

Villa Pomerado is a top quality 129-bed skilled nursing facility, located next to and affiliated with Pomerado Hospital. At Villa Pomerado, we offer a continuum of care for a variety of adult patients with post acute and long-term needs, including rehabilitation, respite and hospice care. The facility also has a sub-acute unit for patients whose complex needs cannot be met in an acute hospital or in a community skilled nursing facility. All of our services are provided in a comfortable, home-like atmosphere.

Villa Pomerado offers highly trained nurses – including a Nurse Practitioner - who work closely with patients, doctors and family members, ensuring the best possible outcomes. All of our staff compassionately and professionally meet patient needs in freshly renovated facilities that are attractive and clean and offer a wide variety of services for individuals~ whether they are long-term or post acute patients.

Services

At Palomar Pomerado Health we provide a comprehensive range of services at our two skilled nursing facilitiy locations, Villa Pomerado and Palomar Continuing Care Center.

Rehabilitative Services

Our highly trained staff provides extensive rehabilitative services including speech, occupational and physical therapy.

24-hour Nursing Care

Palomar Continuing Care Center and Villa Pomerado maintain the highest ratio of nurses – RNs, LVNs and Certified Nursing Assistants - per patient among any of the long-term care facilities in San Diego County. That translates into a greater number of hours of hands-on care per patient than anywhere else in the area.

Nutritional Support

The nutritional needs of our patients are assessed and supervised by Registered Dieticians who strongly believe that food comforts and nutrition heals. Patients receive three balanced and delicious meals daily, plus additional supplements as required for nutritional health.

Case Management

RN Case Managers and Social Workers – serve the needs of our patients. They are responsible for equipment, safe discharge and appropriate placement in alternative settings and follow-up care upon release from our facility.

Physician Services

Physicians with privileges in the Palomar Pomerado Health District continue to provide care to their patients in this facility. That is in addition to the extensive medical support and care planning provided by our on-site certified Geriatrician / Medical Director.

Recreational Program

Our recreation therapy support staff understands the patients’ need for entertainment and outside stimulation. To that end, they organize trips into the community for special outings and events, utilizing our facility’s vans for patients’ transportation.

Sub Acute Unit

Our highly specialized Sub Acute Unit is dedicated to providing care to patients with complex needs resulting from catastrophic trauma or illness. Sub acute care bridges the gap between acute care and skilled nursing care by providing each resident the most appropriate care for his or her condition. Our program is designed to provide residents an individualized care plan based upon their needs and abilities. We involve family in our care planning as we feel that strong support and encouragement is a part of our residents physical and emotional well being. Our specialized unit provides care to for ventilator and tracheotomy dependent patients.
