Clinical Team
UMHC provides a continuum of care according to the special needs of each patient. These differing levels of rehabilitation services include acute care and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
Acute care rehabilitation involves working with individuals who are admitted to the University Hospital for medical reasons including surgery, illness, etc. Acute care physical therapy and occupational therapy are both provided at the University Hospital.
Inpatient rehabilitation is provided at University Rehabilitation Center to individuals who are medically stable and need extended periods of time to recover. Staff members use a multidisciplinary team approach to provide intensive therapy to individuals who want to return to an independent lifestyle.
Outpatient rehabilitation provides therapy to individuals who come from home several times a week to one of two outpatient clinics: the Pavilion (occupational therapy and physical therapy) and the Jackson Medical Mall (occupational therapy and physical therapy).
Through a collaborative approach, each level of rehabilitation focuses on helping patients meet their individual goals and get back to life.
