Marjorie B. Doty Aquatic Center 

 

Residents of THE HEIGHTS enjoy swimming all year-round in the dramatic, state-of the-art Marjorie B. Doty Aquatic Center. Completed in 2008, the center's bold architecture is both beautiful and functional. The pool's warm waters are easily accessible with graduated steps and hand rails. 

 

Residents can take advantage open swim and scheduled classes provided by licensed swim instructors. The Aquatic Center fully embraces the concept of aquatic therapy for older adults:

 

Aquacise Class -- No swimming skills required. Emphasizes stretching, toning and cardio exercise. This class will improve your energy and fitness levels with no impact on your joints.

 

Arthritis Class -- A series of gentle exercises in the warm water. Participants gain increased range of motion in stiff, sore joints while finding relief from pain.

 

Water Walking Class -- Gentle on the joints while helping you get in shape. No swimming skills required. Thirty minutes of water walking is equivalent to two hours of land walking.

 

Open Swim/Free Swim/Lap Swim -- Float, swim, exercise or walk in the soothing water. Designated lanes for swimming.

Assisted Living

 

The Assisted Living Services Agency (ALSA) is a state licensed agency staffed with registered nurses (RN), personal care attendants (PCA), companions and homemakers. Services provided by the ALSA are billed to the resident on an "a la carte" basis. Following a comprehensive clinical assessment by our professional nursing staff, a care plan is developed with the resident and their family. ALSA services can be simple or comprehensive and may include:

The ALSA nurses are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Residents who have contracted for ALSA services may access the on-call nurse by telephone during the off-hours and weekends.
