The Altenheim is a non-profit retirement community. Our community is a small population that presents a unique charm for individual care.

Located in The Highlands of Louisville, The Altenheim is a continuing care retirement community providing each resident with the individualized care and services he or she needs. Our quiet, park-like grounds are impeccably maintained, giving our residents peaceful surroundings to enjoy and relax in.

Philosophy

Our purpose as a care facility is to carry out unsurpassed care, assessed on the individual requirements of our residents. We achieve this goal by working together with our families developing the best possible care plan assessed on the persons needs while placing an emphasis on individual privacy and confidentiality.

Independent Living Apartments

The Altenheim has apartments for persons who are able to reside independently. These apartments have an efficiency kitchen, full bath, and spacious living quarters. Linen service, housekeeping, laundry and three meals a day are provided at no extra charge. Religious services, social outings and an activity program are available for our Independent Living Residents.

Personal Care

Residents residing in personal care take pleasure in attractively designed efficiencies designed to meet their individual preference. Our Registered Nursing staff and assistants are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to lend a hand with bathing and dressing. Medications are dispensed under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
