The Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability is part of a state wide network of agencies who work to assure that our state's older residents and individuals with disabilities receive the services they need to live as independently as possible.
The goal of Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability is to advocate for and to strive to achieve a system of services that allows older persons and persons with disabilities the opportunity for an independent and productive lifespan. This is accomplished through three primary areas of emphasis: Advocacy, Service, and Planning.
The Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability advocates for and assists older persons and persons with disabilities, their families, and the agencies and organizations helping them. The Information and Assistance Program is available to assist callers with locating resources and services. All calls are handles in a confidential fashion.
The program provides routine light housekeeping including, but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, changing linens, making beds, laundry, ironing, mending, preparing meals and education about the preparation of nutritious appetizing meals.
