Our Executive Director

Cris Gillespie is our Executive Director here at Somerby of Mount Pleasant. He holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from The Ohio State University. A native of Ohio, he has over 28 years of experience as a senior living executive. In 2008, he served as co-chair of the Charleston area Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.  He is also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church and the East Cooper / Mount Pleasant Kiwanis club.

Somerby Blend Coffee Tasting Video

A small group of residents from various Somerby Senior Living Communities in the Southeast traveled to O'Henry's Coffee Roasting Company in Birmingham, on Thursday, September 17. Five Somerby residents and two soon-to-be residents, designated "coffee ambassadors," used their taste buds to help create a signature coffee that complements the retirement living experience at Somerby. The resulting Somerby Blend will be available for residents to purchase at Somerby's senior living campuses in Alpharetta, Ga.; Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and Birmingham and Mobile, Ala.
