Founded in 1987 in North Carolina, Medical Modalities supplies home medical equipment to patients throughout the southeastern United States. Medical Modalities (MMI) offers wound care, electrotherapy and orthopedic equipment to expedite patients’ rehabilitative needs. We specialize in technologically advanced orthopedic and physical therapy equipment, with the aim of helping our patients avoid invasive procedures. MMI is committed to providing specialty medical solutions that will promote faster healing and enable independence in our patients.
Quick response time, competitive pricing for product rental and purchase, professional installation and state-of-the-art equipment are the hallmarks of our comprehensive service. We also pledge assistance with confirming patients’ insurance eligibility, claims filing, and patient follow-up in order to increase compliance with physicians’ instructions.

We know that patients want to speak with a real, helpful person when dialing a provider. For this reason, Medical Modalities does not use an automatic answering service.
After-Hours Support
Medical Modalities is prepared to respond to problems even when they occur outside of our regular business hours. Our answering service has a full listing of service personnel who are on call to keep vital equipment up and running smoothly.
Equipment Specialists
Medical Modalities has a group of trained equipment specialists who are responsible for patient setup and provide thorough instruction of our equipment. Our staff will also leave instruction manuals with the patient. Specialists can answer questions about the use and maintenance of equipment to ensure that you and your patient are able to get the maximum benefit of the device.
Patient Services
The patient services department will follow up by phone with patients who receive electrotherapy products, specialty mattresses, and home CPM products. Follow-ups are provided to answer any product or billing questions a patient may have. This service is invaluable because our patient service personnel are trained to ensure patient compliancy of the product.
Insurance Specialists
Insurance coverage can be very confusing to deduce, and Medical Modalities is committed to helping. We have contracts with over 50 insurance providers. Our crew of insurance specialists will call in advance to make sure that the patient has adequate coverage prior to delivery of their home device. When possible, Medical Modalities will also let patients know their co-pay amount in advance of delivery.
