Welcome to Marian Manor, a non-profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located in the historic Dorchester Heights area of South Boston.

 

Sponsored for more than 50 years by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, Marian Manor provides the highest quality staff and services, continuing a long tradition of caring for the physical, spiritual, and intellectual needs of the whole person.

 

We invite you to visit us and discover our specialized rehabilitation services, as well as our Alzheimer's care, respite care, long-term residential care, and pastoral care.

Whether you're recovering from surgery or a serious illness consider our post-acute skilled nursing and rehabilitation services offered on our 42 bed short-term unit. Marian Manor prides itself on our rehab-to-home program, which allows individuals to receive inpatient therapy and skilled nursing services.  The focus is to allow individuals to safely return home and regain independent function in their homes.

 

The short-term unit is staffed with qualified individuals including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, a dedicated Case Manager, Social Workers, Restorative Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants.

 

Rehabilitation Services are offer 7 days a week and are provided by registered and licensed Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists and Assistants. Our care and compassion support healing, independence, and overall wellness.

Marian Manor staff are committed to treating each resident with Dementia or Alzheimer's disease as a unique individual and to enhancing his/her ability to live as independently as possible.

 

At Marian Manor, we begin with a comprehensive assessment of the resident's medical and psychosocial needs that include a social history, personal interests and daily routines. We can then determine which specialized environment and accommodations will provide the best outcome in managing his/her Dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

Keeping up with the times is not always an easy task. Here at Marian Manor we try to maintain a balance of staying “hip” while staying true to one’s favorite hobbies and pastimes. That is the reason we have such a diverse schedule of programs for our residents.

 

Whether it’s enjoying a pina colada on the patio with some live music at dusk, playing bingo, trivia games, joining The Red Hats Club, or hitting the slopes playing the video program Wii there is always an activity for everyone.
