Hospice of Chattanooga
Hospice of Chattanooga, Inc. is dedicated to the belief that no one should reach the end of their life alone
Hospice of Chattanooga, Inc. is dedicated to the belief that no one should reach the end of their life alone, afraid or in pain, and that people of all ages have the right to appropriate end-of-life care regardless of disease or ability to pay.
Since 1981, we have been providing hospice/palliative care to terminally ill adults and their families. In 1992 we cared for our first pediatric patient and in 2001 we formed one of the first pediatric Hospice programs in this region.
Hospice of Chattanooga has served more than 20,000 people and their families during the last 28 years. We continue to provide the best, most comprehensive service available in our 18-county coverage area of Tennessee and North Georgia.
Our Philosophy
Hospice philosophy respects the rights of patient and family. It offers the right to enjoy the highest quality of life possible.
We believe that everyone has:
THE RIGHT TO DIE WITH DIGNITY— DIGNITY AS PERCEIVED BY YOU, THE PATIENT.
THE RIGHT TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN MANAGING YOUR OWN REMAINING LIFE SPAN, THE DYING PROCESS AND THE ACTUAL EVENT OF YOUR DEATH.
THE RIGHT TO REMAIN A VIABLE FAMILY MEMBER IN THE ENVIRONMENT OF YOUR CHOICE.
THE RIGHT TO HAVE YOUR NEEDS CONSIDERED ON A PERSONAL, INDIVIDUAL BASIS.
The Hospice Team
A full range of Hospice services could never be provided by one or two caring individuals. It takes a team of well-trained and dedicated staff members and volunteers who work together to meet the varied and ever-changing needs of the Hospice patient and their family. Each team member brings their own special talents, skills, experience and personal style of caring to the support network. The team members are prepared to deal with the individual needs of hospice patients as well as the needs of family members. Together, they establish a plan of care that provides support throughout the dying process and after, to the bereaved family.
