Direct Link is a national provider of medical alert systems that empower seniors to live independently for longer than might otherwise be possible. These include our 24-hour personal emergency response system (PERS) and an automated medication dispenser.

Our offices are locally owned and operated, enabling quick installation and personalized, ongoing support. We stock our inventory to facilitate maintenance. Direct Link is available on a monthly basis with no equipment to buy and no long-term commitments or obligations.

PERS(Personal Emergency Response System)

According to the American Geriatrics Society, one-third of all people older than 65 will fall each year. Research shows getting help within the first four hours of a fall can dramatically reduce the severity and effects, enabling seniors who have a PERS to stay in their home an average of six years longer than those who do not.

How Does the PERS Work?

The unit is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For help, simply press the small, wireless button worn as a pendant or wristband. The Care Center staff will respond promptly and take action based on your prior instructions.

They will:

• Dispatch an ambulance when necessary
• Have a neighbor check in on you
• Notify a family member of your situation

Our operators will always follow up with the responder by calling to confirm that help did in fact arrive. For added security, Direct Link includes an extra emergency call button free of charge. All call buttons are water-resistant, making them ideal for all rooms – even kitchens and bathrooms. Direct Link units are compatible with digital cable/VoIP phone service and AC operated with a rechargeable battery back-up for travel or power failures.

According to the Alliance for Health Reform, approximately 20% of seniors are using about 50 prescriptions every year, and research shows about 25% of all nursing home admissions are related to improper self-administration of medicine.

Direct Link’s automated medication dispenser can help simplify medication management, giving you peace of mind and maximizing independence. You’ll have fewer worries about:

• Set the digital alarm clock.
• Close the unit under lock and key, not just a latch..

• When dose is ready, alarm sounds and red light flashes.
• If dose is not taken, The Care Center is alerted and will call to remind you.
• The unit is compatible with digital cable/VoIP phone service, and it is AC operated with a 72-hour rechargeable battery back-up for travel or power failures.
