Home Care of the Carolinas
Delivering medical treatment and services to patients at home.
About Home Health Care:
Thanks to recent developments in home health care, patients are going home from the hospital sooner than ever before. Modern technology has developed to the point where many medical services can now be provided outside a hospital setting. These advancements, combined with highly skilled professionals, who provide a broad range of care in the home, often allow patients to return home to family, friends, and a comfortable environment for continued care.
Due to the rapidly rising costs of health care, many physicians and insurance companies now try to limit the amount of time a patient spends in the hospital. With home health care as a resource, patients can leave the hospital, yet still receive continued medical care in a more cost-effective environment. Home health care is also invaluable to individuals who experience a decline in health, and need assistance to remain independent at home.
Home health care is tailored to the individual needs of each patient and is delivered on a one-to-one basis. It can be a continuation of health care for infants, children and adults discharged from the hospital. While in other cases, home health care may prevent hospitalization altogether or help reduce the length of stay in the hospital or other health care facility.
Significant evidence shows home health care is the most satisfying form of health care available to the American public. In addition, it is the least expensive way of providing medical services needed by patients. Home health care costs about one-tenth as much as hospitalization and one-fourth as much as nursing home placement.
