The experienced leading staff, most of whom have served the Heritage Senior Living community for over 20 years, is dedicated to the philosophy of the Founder, Wayne Field. Independent Living

The Independent Living Program at Heritage encourages you to continue to pursue your own interests and active lifestyle while enjoying the support and convenience of a fully self-contained Assisted Living Community. You can come and go as you wish, entertain guests, participate in activities of your choice, or just relax in the gracious surroundings of Heritage of Edina. Our Independent Living Program offers you the opportunity to enjoy the peace of mind that comes with living at Heritage of Edina.

Assisted Living

Heritage of Edina is proud of our unique and complete Assisted Living Program. We provide services and 24-hour supervision for your peace of mind in all four of our buildings. Our Assisted Living Program offers the services of Independent Living Program as well as the following services provided by our own Home Health Care Agency.

• Breakfast served in your own apartment or in the lounge located on the same floor
• Lunch and Dinner served in the main dining room, in the lounge located on the same floor or the Resident’s apartment
• Assistance with the activities of daily living
• Medication assistance - up to six times daily
• Weekly medication set-up
• 24-hour protective supervision
• Personal observation every two hours
• Guidance and assistance with grooming and dressing
• Escorts to and from meals, beauty/barbershop and whirlpool
• Weekly laundry includes one load of linens/towels and one load of personal
• Guidance to help manage incontinence
• Weekly bathing
• Daily bed making
• Activity Program
• Skilled nursing visits for an additional charge are also available

Other Programs

Alzheimer & Dementia

Our Special Care Program, located on the second floor of the Manor building, provides a controlled family-like environment for individuals who are experiencing diminished physical and mental capabilities. Professional staff encourage and enable the residents to focus on the daily living abilities they retain, rather than on the abilities that are diminished.

• Increased Staffing

Our increased staffing for the Special Care Program allows more time and attention for each resident so he/she may experience favorite interests on a regular basis.

• The Controlled Environment

Code alert provides 24 hour protective supervision necessary for the residents' safety and well-being. Personal observation every two hours and unlimited escort within Heritage of Edina are included for each resident in the Special Care Program.

• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living

The caring and friendly staff encourage, guide, and help the resident with their personal care needs of bathing, grooming, dressing and managing incontinence. Residents receive medication administration daily and medication set-ups once a week.

• Three Meals A Day

Meals are served in the resident’s apartment or in the Special Care Dining Room, promoting opportunities for both interaction and privacy when needed or desired.

• The Family-Like Environment

We provide a familiar setting for activities that gives each resident a feeling of accomplishment and purpose. The privacy of their own apartment with their own familiar belongings is an important reassurance of their home environment.

Extended Care Program

Heritage of Edina is proud of our innovative Extended Care Program. This program will allow our residents to “Age in Place” with their own personal belongings surrounding them. The Extended Care Program is an extension of our Assisted Living Program. With the same staff providing significantly increased care we are able to offer our residents the security they have come to trust.

• Three meals daily
• Daily bed making
• Weekly laundry, up to three loads
• Unlimited frequency of medication assistance/administration
• Weekly medication set-up and medication management
• Weekly bathing
• Personal observation every hour
• Escorts to and from meals, beauty/barbershop and whirlpool
• Assistance with transfers from bed, toilet and wheelchair
• Assistance to help manage and care for incontinence
• Dressing and grooming assistance and personal hygiene care
• Redirection when needed
• Assistance with eating at meal times
• Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, and Weight checks included
• Range of Motion (ROM) exercises if prescribed by physician
• Activities Program
• Skilled nursing visits for an additional charge are also available

Wellness Program

Heritage of Edina offers a unique program designed to provide one-on-one quality time for our residents. Wellness aides are trained and dedicated to provide extraordinary care to assist and meet individual needs. Our program provides residents with unhurried, dedicated time to restore muscle strength and reach their highest level of function.

By coordinating with the Case Manager and therapists we are able to set goals for maximum independence and to maintain optimal wellness. Our wellness program is available to meet the physical, social and/or emotional needs of each resident. A wellness visit may consist of any one or more of the following:

• Social interaction
• Wheel chair excursions outside or inside through the tunnels
• Companionship
