Granny NANNIES home health agency was founded in 1990 by Rob and Kirsten Hodgson in Central Florida as the result of a very personal, family situation - the need to find quality, trustworthy, reliable and affordable care for Rob's aging grandmother, Esther Dowding, in her own Central Florida home.

The plight was similar to others across the country: an elderly parent with working adult children, who are parents themselves; a great-grandparent with a zest for life and a disabling physical condition; a senior with an undeniable need for help with the activities of everyday living yet with a determined desire to stay in her own home, with loved ones to whom a nursing home was "out of the question."

Since 1990, Granny NANNIES has grown into a successful licensed nursing agency with numerous company owned and owner/operated-franchised locations serving thousands of the community's elderly and individuals with special needs. The company has stayed true to its original mission as "a home health care agency committed to providing the highest quality of compassionate care to its clients who are seeking independent living in the comfort of their own homes or other suitable environment." Esther - who credits her longevity and well being to Granny NANNIES - is still being lovingly cared for in the family's home by her family and original "nanny" and best friend, Louise. Says her grandson Rob, giving credit where it's due, "She's the reason we started it all!"

Granny NANNIES is a home health care nursing agency that specializes in providing Certified Nursing Aides (CNA) and Home Health Aides (HHA) level of care for the elderly, disabled adult, or individuals of any age with special needs.

Granny NANNIES recruits only trained Certified Nurses Aides (CNA) and Home Health Aides (HHA).

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (the “VA”) to help war period Veterans and their Widows pay for home healthcare and medical expenses.This benefit is called the VA Aid and Attendance Pension (“A&A”) and qualified Veterans or their Widows can receive monthly cash benefits up to the following amounts:

To Qualify the War Period Veteran must have:

•  served 90 consecutive days on active military duty;
•  received a better than dishonorable discharge; and
• served at least 1 day of active duty during a war period(there is no requirement that any service be performed in a combat zone).

The Widow must:

    not have remarried after the Veteran’s death.

The Veteran (or Widow):

    must be certified by a doctor as needing assistance with his or her daily living activities.

The Household:

   Must have significantly less than $80,000 in Allowable Countable Assets (subject to the discretion of the VA); and  The Adjusted Household Income (Gross Household Income less all unreimbursed recurring medical expenses) must be less than the A&A benefit.
