Granny Nannies Of Kentucky
Granny NANNIES is a quality in home health care nursing agency that serves all areas in & around Louisville, Kentucky (KY).
About Us
Granny NANNIES home health care agency was founded in 1990 by Rob and Kirsten Hodgson in Central Florida as the result of a very personal, family situation - the need to find quality, trustworthy, reliable and affordable senior care for Rob's aging grandmother, Esther Dowding, in her own Winter Park home.

The plight was similar to others across the country: an elderly parent with working adult children, who are parents themselves; a great-grandparent with a zest for life and a disabling physical condition; a senior with an undeniable need for homecare assistance with the activities of everyday living yet with a determined desire to stay in her own home, with loved ones to whom a nursing home was "out of the question."
What's a family to do? Rob and Kirsten Hodgson moved to Florida from New Hampshire to care for Esther. With their own married life to manage, however, Rob and Kirsten knew they needed help in caring for Esther and began a search to find competent, caring, affordable care assistance. Their search turned up very little. In fact, there was a relative void in Central Florida for the type of home care services they sought. Clearly, a resource was needed.
Being "go-getters," Rob and Kirsten solved the problem for themselves and hundreds of other families by establishing Granny NANNIES of North America to provide specialized private duty home care services for the elderly.
And the rest is history! Since 1990, Granny NANNIES has grown into a successful licensed nursing agency with numerous company owned and owner/operated-franchised locations serving thousands of the community's elderly and individuals in need of special needs care. The company has stayed true to its original mission as "a home health care agency committed to providing the highest quality of compassionate care to its clients who are seeking independent living in the comfort of their own homes or other suitable environment."
Esther - who credits her longevity and wellbeing to Granny NANNIES - is still being lovingly cared for in the family's home by her family and original "nanny" and best friend, Louise. Says her grandson Rob, giving credit where it's due, "She's the reason we started it all!"
Senior Home Care
Basic Care or Total Care: 80% of the elderly have at least one chronic health condition or illness that requires some form of long-term care. As loved ones age, most prefer independent living in their own home. Yet the seniors afflicted by Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or terminal Cancer often require specialized care when residing with family. This is when hospice or respite care can bring much needed relief to everyone.

Our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Home Health Aides (HHA) specialize in the assisted living of aging seniors – we bring the nursing home care to you. We have the expertise, compassion and patience to aid with residential home care – our private duty caregivers are just a phone call away to allow your family the peace of mind of at-home care.

Accident or Surgery Recovery
The first 24 hours after surgery are a crucial window of time when the healing process begins. Granny NANNIES makes the road to recovery easier. People are often discharged from hospitals or facilities with the recommendation that they also obtain assisted care at home for a few days, either from a family member or visiting nurse.
Our Certified NursingAssistants(CNA) can make the transition from surgery to recovery easier for anyone requiring in-home care assistance – even if your need is just for a few days. A few hours a day to 24/7 care, Granny NANNIES Home Health Aides(HHA) are there to assist you.
Respite Care Relief
Respite care is short-term relief for the family caregiver – a break from the demands of ongoing special needs care to provide rest and rejuvenation. As their loved one's physical condition declines, the family caregiver's involvement increases.
If you've found yourself in a situation where you need a helping hand, Granny NANNIES is a respected, affordable solution available 24/7. A Granny NANNIES certified caregiver is compassionate, experienced, thoroughly screened and trained in special needs care areas such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Diabetes.
If your loved one is resistant to the idea of outside help, you can introduce respite care slowly. When you know they need the care, but they do yet realize it, you can trust Granny NANNIES. We are experienced in earning the trust of even the most reluctant individuals so that they look forward to the company of their private duty caregiver.
At first, a Granny NANNIES HHA (Home Health Aide) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) may just help with light housekeeping or laundry. As your loved one grows more comfortable with this new caregiver assistance, your private duty nursing aide can transition into the role of companion – giving you the break you deserve.
Hospice Care
Granny NANNIES hospice care provides a special way of caring for family members facing an end of life decision. Our trained, specialized and certified caregivers will work with the team of hospice care professionals to maximize the comfort of your loved one.

Our HHA (Home Health Aide) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) follows your medically-directed program, alleviating the family's distress by improving your loved one's quality of life through loving care.
Granny NANNIES provides the highest quality of life for your terminally ill adult or pediatric family member – easing the pain and overall emotional, spiritual, social and economic stress of the knowledge of impending silence – allowing your loved one peace, comfort and dignity in the comforting surroundings of home.
