About Us
Our Philosophy
We believe activities that revolve around the daily jobs and duties that one would do at home can enrich each resident's quality of life. We gently encourage residents to participate in their own personal care, as well as help the staff bake, garden and plan celebrations.
Residential Care That Feels Like Home
Grace Homes - Oak Ridge House offers residential care for seniors with memory care needs. We have 6 sunny, private bedrooms and one shared suite for a couple nestled in a residential neighborhood and surrounded by mature pine trees.
Grace Homes - Oak Ridge House in Hopkins is conveniently located on Oak Ridge Road, at the intersection of Hwy 7 and Oak Ridge Road. The home is diagonally across the street from Oak Ridge Country Club, and a few minutes west of Knollwood Mall
Nursing Care
Food
We serve mostly organic food and local meat and produce when available. The beef we serve is grass fed, hormone and antibiotic free from Cedar Summit Farms in New Prague Minnesota. Every Friday night is fish dinner. We serve wild caught Alaskan salmon, trout, mahi-mahi among other fish. We also serve organic tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh herbs from our on-site garden in the summer and early fall. We serve fresh, in season fruit at every breakfast.
Exercise
Our residents exercise daily after breakfast. Three days a week our Physical Fitness Specialist leads group exercise class including light weightlifting, cardio, strength and balance training. She also provides one on one range of motion and stregnthening exercises for those requiring individual attention. Our staff members lead the exercise the other days of the week - including group exercise class, indoor and outdoor walks, and range of motion.
Light Therapy
November through April residents receive 15-30 minutes of Lightbox therapy to help boost their mood and increase their vitamin D levels. The rest of the year they go outside every day possible for natural sunlight.
Minimal Medication
Our residents feel better and engage in life more when they take only those prescription drugs that are absolutely necessary for their health. All medications are routinely reviewed by the health care team to determine their necessity. Unnecessary drugs are weaned under the physician’s guidance.
Other Services
Music
Twice a week we have music sessions where our residents and staff play musical instruments and sing. We have a piano in our living room for impromptu recitals. Musicians from the community visit us as well. Past performers have included singing Girl Scouts, singing dogs, and string instrument performances by children.
Weekly Outings
Are provided to stores and attractions in the area. Past outings have included Target, Radio Shack, Tonkadale Nursery, General Store, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and Apple Haus, Minnetonka Farmers Market, Dairy Queen and drives around Lake Minnetonka.

Planned activities include baking, assisting with meal prep, Facebooking, music, tea parties, and holiday decorating. Every Saturday night is make your own pizza and movie night.
