Friendswood Health Care Center

Our mission is to give loving care and assistance to all of our wonderful residents. We have been here serving our community for over 40 years. Some of our staff members have been with our center for more than 30 years.

We pride ourselves on caring for our residents and improving their quality of life. Residents in our facility enjoy a family like environment with our caring staff and wonderful volunteers that so graciously give of their time. Our care, activities and nutritious meals all enhance the betterment of their daily lives.

Resident Care

TRADITIONAL CARE: Friendswood Healthcare Center provides consistent nursing care to residents for support in their daily activities. Through our care, which can range from several months to long term care, these patients are able to achieve and maintain the highest possible level of function

REHABILITATION CARE: Rehabilitation services can be provided for several days, weeks months, our physician-directed rehabilitation services are designed to complement a hospital stay or, in many cases be a substitute for hospitalization. Our dedicated nurses and therapists are trained to help each patient reach their highest potential and improve their quality of life.

RESPITE CARE: Respite care is a short-term care program designed to give family members a much needed break from the demands of caring for the chronically ill at home. Whether it's for a weekend or a few weeks, we provide the patient with a comfortable, secure medical and social environment.

SPECIAL NEEDS: For those loved ones with Alzheimer's or other dementia and who would benefit from a safer environment, we have our special needs unit. Focused activities in a safe environment allows these residents enhanced quality of life. The Special Needs Unit also has a patio area that facilitates outside recreation.

Resident Services

NURSING STAFF: Our nursing staff provides 24/7 care to all residents. Our state certified CNA's, RN's and LVN's give individual attention to each of our residents.

DIETARY SERVICES PROVIDED: Our on-site dietician insures that each resident is served three nutritious meals including hot soup and snacks on a daily basis. Our Hydration-Coffee Bar is always open. We cater to special dietary needs including Diabetic, Cardiac, Low-Fat and Renal diets.

ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT: Our activities department provides activities which improve the quality of life for our residents. Our activities professionals along with dedicated volunteers and family members work together to provide activities that enrich the daily lives of our residents. We have four churches providing for spiritual needs and social needs. PALS from Clear Brook High School visit and interact with residents during the school year. On the second Tuesday of the month, we have a night dance featuring the 'Throw Together Band'. We have talented singers and musicians providing entertainment and even our musically inclined residents join in. We have activities to exercise the body and to improve the mind. We scrapbook, reminisce, cook, play games including Bingo, Dominoes, Trivia and guessing games. We also have monthly themed parties.

Birthday parties are celebrated every month with our favorite clown Hugo. Every afternoon we have a social serving coffee, juice and snacks. Our residents enjoy sitting on the front porch or back patio.
