Douglas Gardens Community Care
You want to keep your elderly family member at home, but time and finances are limited. Douglas Gardens Community Care gives families the extra help they need to keep someone age 60 or older living at home rather than in a nursing home.
These programs provide personal care for the elderly in Miami-Dade County who live at home or in an assisted living facility. They also offer financial assistance for family caregivers living with the frail senior or for a senior in an assisted living facility. Short-term emergency services may also be provided for individuals in need.
The State of Florida, Department of Elder Affairs has designated Miami Jewish Health Systems a lead agency to administer the programs. The Alliance for Aging manages admissions to the programs and performs a telephone screening to determine eligibility and choose the most suitable program.
