American Standard Walk-in Bathtubs
Bentley Baths – Standard Size Walk-in Bathtubs Is an inward swinging "walk-in bathtub" the right option"
Most of our customers are fairly mobile and can benefit from a true "walk-in" appliance. The general criteria for using a walk-in bathtub is that the bather be capable of taking one or two steps (with or without assistance), and can stand on one leg and raise one foot the height of a standard stair step (usually about 5"-7"), and then stand on that leg while moving the other foot into the walk-in bathtub.
This product solution category represents the broadest range of options and sizes. There are many, many variations on the product theme, and that is why Bentley Baths, Amazing Walk-in Therapy Tubs represents many manufacturers and can provide you access to any product solution you may desire. Most manufacturers will have at least one "walk-in" tub, and they are sold through many forms of "re-sellers." The confusion this creates around walk-in bathtubs (especially over the internet) makes it hard to understand the differences between one walk-in bath product and another.
Bentley Baths "Swan" Line
The walk-in bathtub models in the Bentley Baths Swan line offer the highest quality fiberglass shell and a strong industry leading 1¾" stainless steel frame construction. These appliances are constructed to meet all IAPMO, UL, and ANSI standards, and are the best product solution in the market today for approximately 80% of our customers. Every appliance is inspected and tested in our factory, and additional engineering and structural modifications are made if necessary to meet our exacting standards.
The inward swinging door permits ease of access for independent bathers, even those requiring walkers and other stabilization equipment. The low threshold and ADA compliant seat height of a full 17" makes it the most widely appropriate design. We offer a full range of options from fully ADA compliant solutions to partially ADA compliant, to less expensive standard accessories (Beware of false claims - full ADA compliance is offered by no internet re-seller to our knowledge). Also, we can design them with either our exclusive air-based Medical Hydrotherapy, water jetted hydrotherapy systems, or dual systems (we offer these options on all our appliances, but STRONGLY encourage customers to think about using only our exclusive Medical Hydrotherapy). The Swan line offers appliances with generous sidewall heights of 36"-48", and a range of widths from 26" to 36", and lengths from 45" to 60". Our aging-in-place consultants will help you determine the best size for you, based on your unique needs.
Bentley Baths "Swan 3052" Line
In the Swan Line models, the 3052 "straight door" and it sibling, the 2952 "curved door", are our super stars. Like all Swan line models, the Bentley Baths Swan 3052 line of appliances offer bathers a choice of door swings, but has the added benefit of a full 40" depth. The most critical dimension on any walk-in appliance is the height from the top of the seat, to the overflow. This height determines the depth of your soak. These Swans boast a more generous sidewall depth of 40", giving our customers who like deep soaking an extra two inches of soaking depth to enjoy.

Slide-in Bathtubs
Bentley Baths – Slide-in / Transition Bathtubs
Many of our customers are facing very serious health and mobility issues, whether it is age, injury, or illness related. If standing and stepping into a walk-in appliance is not practical for any reason, many people believe that their limited mobility forces them into showering, where threshold access can be minimized or eliminated completely (see Roll-in Showering section). Bentley Baths is proud to offer a full line of appliances manufactured and designed specifically for transferring directly into the bathing environment. Assisted living facilities and nursing homes have been bathing people who are wheelchair-bound or suffer from severe mobility issues for years. We decided to bring this technology to our residential customers.
This product solution category offers the dignity and liberating experience of being able to independently bathe or bathe with assistance in your own home. This is a huge benefit in terms of quality of life for our customers with more serious mobility challenges! The Bentley Baths Slide-in / Transition product line permits not only full soaking and the relaxing and healthful benefits of full body water bathing, but can also include Bentley Baths exclusive Medical Hydrotherapy systems! The previous "chore" of bathing can turn into an amazing event that is often life-altering for the health of our customers with severe mobility challenges. Also, you now have a bathroom designed to support independent living and aging-in-place for as long as possible.
Why Trust Us
People ask, so, why do you focus on walk-in bathtubs"
georageIn 2002, my life took an unexpected turn. One day, my Mother fell in the tub and broke her hip. I was not prepared for the downward spiral my Mother’s health went through following that fall. The hip injury set in motion what I now know to be a very common pattern of health problems that directly led to her dying in a nursing home in 2004.
I firmly believe the common sense law: Knowledge is Power! For me, helping an elderly or mobility challenged person live and bathe safely at home was simply a scenario I had not looked at closely enough. I didn’t have the necessary knowledge, until that is… it was too late for my Mom.
However, my 89 year old Dad made it perfectly clear that he had no intention of ever going into a nursing home. So, my challenge became "how do I help him age safely in his home for the rest of his life"" I had a new mission, and a deep personal passion for resolving this question.
I found very little help out there. Almost none! After three years of extensive research and study, I believe it is fair to say that I am one of the most experienced safety and aging in place consultants working with the elderly and their families in the United States. In pursuing my passion to help my Father, I traveled all over the US. I even went to Europe and Canada. I invested thousands of dollars and over 3,000 hours of my personal time interviewing seniors, their grown children and their caregivers; and researching ALL the products and technologies available.
