We are specialists in our field and have built a strong reputation for caring for those whose families may not reside in the same geographical area as the individual needing care. It can be a very difficult time, not only inviting someone into their home, but acknowledging the need for care. The level of care often changes and this too, might be upsetting to the senior, at least initially. Our Care Managers work very closely with their team of caregivers and the families to help ease much of the difficulty in order to accomplish needed tasks in a manner that minimizes the stress felt by the person needing aid.

Our goal is to never come in and try to change someone's lifestyle and/or environment but to take the appropriate measures to ensure total comfort and safety. Unfortunately, as we all age many find themselves confronting more complex needs yet still wish to remain in their personal environment. We all know and can appreciate how difficult it is to know you need care, let alone accept it. To add having to move from the comforts and privacy of your home can be more detrimental than anything. Parents, especially, do not want to burden their children and their respective families with their infirmities as they get older yet they need someone to lean on. A caregiver whether hourly or live-in is by far, the best solution.

As a HomeCare agency owner, I am most familiar with the difficulties of finding the right match for each of our clients. My role has always been to coach, direct and guide the efforts of my team who ensures that everyone we send out would be someone we would entrust with our own family members. It is always harder to do the job right but that is why Avenue HomeCare is so successful. It has never been about being the biggest, but rather the best. Care at home is not targeted to one specific age group. Home care is available for everyone from infants and children with special care needs to the elderly. If you're returning home from a hospital stay and need assistance or are elderly and want to stay in your own home, Avenue HomeCare can provide you with care a few hours a week or around the clock.

Pediatrics

We are dedicated to quality service for the medically fragile child. We service our patients based on each child’s specific needs to develop their potential through clinical education and technical support. We believe it takes more than health care to take care of the child; it takes care from the heart, and that means having the experience of working with children, with families, and with the health care system to anticipate and help with the expected and the unexpected.

We are partners in caring for the child and over the years, we have developed an excellent professional rapport with physicians as well as with the case management teams in the private and public sector. We are committed to providing outstanding care for children in combination and coordination with other primary care and specialty care providers.

Nursing Services

Avenue HomeCare employs only full-time Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) experienced in performing care according to the patients’ needs and doctors’ orders. We take great pride in Whether it is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; intermittent days or evenings; or hourly blocks to provide respite from the constancy of care, we can help.

Nursing Care Includes:

• Respiratory Care: Oxygen, Nebulizer Treatments, Ventilator, Tracheotomy Care
• Special Monitoring: Apnea, Oximetry, Cardiac Monitors
• Special Feeding Needs: Gastrostomy, Nasal Gastric, Central Line Therapies

Mother/Baby Home Visits

Don’t we all wish that babies arrived with instructions? Unfortunately, they do not, but Avenue HomeCare’s specialized pediatric nurses do! All care and instruction is delivered in the familiar surroundings of your home.

Mother/Baby Home Visits include:

• Assessment and care of you and your baby
• Ways to care for, feed and bathe your baby
• Advice to help siblings and pets adjust to a new baby
• Instructions on child-proofing your home
• Breast feeding support
• Skilled care for premature babies and newborns with breathing problems, jaundice, feeding difficulties or infections
• Emotional support for you and your family

Respite Care

Respite care is also available to allow caregivers time away while remaining confident that their child is being safely cared for by trained, compassionate pediatric professionals.
