The Apria Advantage — Our Guiding Principles
Exceptional Service
Apria Healthcare has the most comprehensive product and service line available. Through our COPD Care, Sleep Management, and Tube Feeding programs, we stand ready to help ensure patients receive the care they need.

Patient Outcomes
Apria is committed to focusing on the outcomes of people who receive our services. We offer comprehensive patient education, clinical assessments, and ongoing monitoring to identify additional patient needs.

Patient satisfaction is at the core of everything we do at Apria Healthcare. The lives of those we serve are directly impacted by the care we provide, and it is our commitment to provide top quality service.
Nationwide Leadership
Extensive Medicare experience as well as the largest network of payor contracts ensure that Apria is positioned to provide care to more patients. We take our role as the nation’s largest provider of home healthcare services seriously, acting as an industry-leading innovator. It is our goal to make choosing Apria an easy decision.
Apria's COPD Treatment
We Make it Easier on You
With COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), treatment is a daily chore. But we do everything we can to make it easier on you. We tailor treatment to you to match your medical and lifestyle needs and provide you with 24/7 support every day of the year.

Medications
Medications can help people in the early stages of COPD control the symptoms and reduce exacerbations. The Apria COPD Care Program has a full range of COPD medicines along with complimentary overnight delivery. How many retail pharmacies do you know that deliver this level of service?
Convenient Pharmacy Services
- Convenient overnight delivery to new patients
- Advanced patient refill reminders
- 24/7 pharmacy support
Nebulized Therapy Effectiveness
Because there is no special technique or coordination required,1 a nebulizer may be a simpler, easier-to-use drug delivery system to those who do not gain optimal benefit from dry powder inhalers or metered dose inhalers. One of the main advantages of a small volume nebulizer is that the delivery of doses occurs over 60 to 90 breaths, rather than in just one or two inhalations. This means a single ineffective breath will not decrease the effectiveness of the treatment.2
Oxygen
For people in need of oxygen, Apria offers one of the most robust long-term oxygen therapy programs available, including a travel and relocation program.
Travel Program Covering All 50 States
- Oxygen system delivery for travel
- Oxygen system delivery and pick-up at destination
- 24/7 On-Call Clinical Support
Genetic Screening Test and Treatment
It is recommended that all people with COPD be tested for AAT Deficiency (Alpha-1 Antitripsyn Deficiency, also called Genetic Emphysema or Genetic COPD), according to the American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society.3 AAT Deficiency can lead to irreversible and progressive damage of lung tissue, which is why it is important to get treatment. The screening is a simple blood test.
The Apria COPD Care Program can help facilitate screening and provides treatments to patients diagnosed with AAT Deficiency.
Apria's COPD Monitoring
Ongoing Monitoring to Optimize Treatment
By routinely monitoring, Apria is able to determine if you are responding to the prescribed therapy so that adjustments can be made. Our goal is to work with you to optimize care. And we assess you in your own home so that it is convenient for you.
Along with monitoring over time, we will continue to provide you with one-on-one respiratory education from a licensed Respiratory Therapist. No other COPD care program offers so much, so be sure to ask your doctor for Apria as your COPD care provider.

Corporate Compliance Program
Corporate Compliance
Apria Healthcare is committed to complying with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and has voluntarily implemented a comprehensive Corporate Compliance Program for many years. Our program incorporates formal guidelines for healthcare organizations that have been issued by the federal Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General and other industry "best practices.” With full backing from our Board of Directors, Apria has adopted a written Code of Ethical Business Conduct that outlines our compliance policies and guidelines, to which all of our employees must adhere.

In addition, all new hires at Apria undergo pre-employment criminal background checks and drug screening tests. Those employees who are responsible for visiting patients’ homes or driving vehicles also undergo randomized drug testing during their Apria career. We also conduct regular compliance training and administer excluded parties checks to make sure our employees, contractors, and vendors are allowed to serve Medicare and Medicaid patients. These efforts help to ensure that we are providing safe, quality care to our patients in their homes.
