What is home care?

Home care is a service provided in the patient's home to help the individual remain independent in their own home. A patient's home can be a private residence, an apartment, an independent living community or an assisted living facility.

Generally home care is appropriate when a person prefers to stay at home but needs ongoing care that cannot easily or effectively be provided solely by family or friends.

Home care can consist of both unskilled and skilled tasks.
